New to sewing and not sure where to begin? This relaxed and friendly course is designed especially for complete beginners who want to build confidence with a sewing machine and learn the basics from the very start.

Over this hands-on session, you’ll get to know your machine, try out essential skills, and make two simple, satisfying projects to take home.

What You’ll Learn

• How to thread your machine and wind a bobbin

• Different stitches and when to use them

• Troubleshooting common issues (like wobbly stitches or tangled threads)

• How to follow a simple sewing pattern

• How to use a pattern to cut out fabric accurately

• Tips and tricks from your experienced tutor

With plenty of practice and encouragement, you’ll build up your skills while making:

• A simple drawstring bag

• A practical apron

This course is all about giving you a strong, stress-free foundation—so you can feel confident to move on to more ambitious sewing adventures!
