Introduction to free form quilting 28th September
Sunday 28th September
10am – 4.30pm
The wonderful Jessie Cutts will lead this small group workshop. You will be taken through a free form approach to quilting, as well as learning the necessary techniques to make your own small sized quilt or wallhanging.
We will start by looking at inspiration and explore a creative free-form approach to the design of a quilt. We will then work through the process of creating your own quilted textile piece, that’s personal to you, exploring a way to quilt that suits you. At the end of the day you will have a beautiful piece of work and the skills to create more!
Techniques covered
Fabric palettes
Cutting and pieced composition
Construction of the quilt
Hand quilting
Simple fold-over binding and finishing
Sewing Level
Some experience. Some basic sewing experience is the minimum necessary, and you will need to be able to use a sewing machine. However, quilting experience is not necessary. You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you would like.
